Job Title: Head of Compliance

Location: Remote (EU Legislation knowledge preferred)

Salary Range: $150k-$250k + Competitive Token Package

The Company

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Compliance to join our team. As a leader in the decentralized exchange space, our company places a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, particularly in the EU and Switzerland.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our exchange adheres to all relevant regulations and laws across different jurisdictions, particularly in the areas of DeFi and banking licensing. You will work closely with our legal team and other stakeholders to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

As part of their role, the person in this position has several key responsibilities related to compliance and regulatory requirements for a decentralized finance (DeFi) exchange.

One of their primary duties is to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of DeFi regulations across different jurisdictions, with a particular focus on the European Union (EU) and Switzerland. This involves staying informed about relevant laws and regulations, as well as any changes or updates that may affect the exchange’s operations.

In addition to understanding regulatory requirements, the person in this role is responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures that meet those requirements. This may involve collaborating with legal and other stakeholders to ensure that the exchange is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Another important aspect of the job is conducting regular compliance audits and assessments to identify areas of risk and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. This includes staying up-to-date with regulatory developments and changes that may impact the exchange’s business, and incorporating compliance considerations into all aspects of the exchange’s operations.

To achieve these goals, the person in this role will need to collaborate closely with other departments, including legal, risk management, and operations, to ensure that compliance is a top priority throughout the organization. By working together, the exchange can maintain a strong reputation for regulatory compliance and build trust with its users and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
• 7+ years of experience in compliance or a related field, preferably in the financial services or blockchain industries
• Strong knowledge of DeFi regulations across different jurisdictions, particularly in the EU and Switzerland
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments and levels of seniority
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective compliance strategies
• Familiarity with regulators like FINMA, BAFIN, AMF, and other relevant authorities in the EU and Switzerland
• Experience with banking and trading licensing requirements
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
